LIGUE 1 – NANTES TO FACE GUINGAMP WITHOUT MOIMBÉ, SALA INCLUDED IN SQUAD
FC Nantes will be without defender Wilfried Moimbé for their opening Ligue 1 fixture against Guingamp this Saturday. The 26-year-old, born in France but of Malian descent, is sidelined due to quadriceps pain and was left out of Michel Der Zakarian’s squad for the match at Stade de la Beaujoire.
Moimbé’s absence is a setback for Nantes’ defensive options, particularly given his strong performances last season. However, the Canaries will be boosted by the inclusion of Emiliano Sala, the Argentine striker recently signed from Bordeaux, who is expected to bring firepower to the attack.
Here is the full Nantes squad for the match:
Goalkeepers: Dupé, Riou
Defenders: Dubois, Deaux, Djidji, Kwateng, Veigneau, Walongwa
Midfielders: Adryan, Bedoya, Gomis, Rongier, Thomasson, B. Touré
Forwards: Audel, Bammou, Sala, Sigthorsson
Nantes, aiming to build on last season’s mid-table finish, will be hoping to start their new campaign with a convincing performance at home despite the absence of Moimbé.
