Issa Cissokho expressed his frustration after Nantes’ defeat against Lyon, particularly regarding the decisions made by the referee during the match. The Senegalese player was visibly upset by the referee’s actions and even suggested that Nantes had been robbed of a valid goal.
“It’s always the same with the referee… He (referring to Mr. Rainville) disallowed a goal that was clearly valid (from Djordjevic, 39th minute),” Cissokho stated in an interview with beIN Sports. “It’s a recurring issue. Every time, it feels like we’re being robbed… It’s frustrating. It’s been a tough week. Facing Paris and Lyon, we knew they were going to be two big matches. We didn’t do anything wrong. Now we have to keep moving forward. We’ll need to go to Nice in the next match to make up for the points we lost today (Sunday).”
Cissokho’s comments highlight the disappointment felt by the Nantes team following the match, as they felt hard done by the decisions made by the referee.
