Papy Djilobodji Returns for Nantes Ahead of Ligue 1 Match Against Metz
Metz — Senegalese defender Papy Djilobodji will make his season debut for Nantes this Saturday as the team prepares for their Ligue 1 fixture against Metz. Djilobodji missed the opening match of the campaign due to a suspension following an accumulation of yellow cards last season.
Nantes coach Michel Der Zakarian will be able to count on the defender’s availability as the team looks to build momentum after their recent outing against RC Lens.
Meanwhile, Nantes continue to manage injury setbacks with goalkeeper Rémy Riou, midfielder Rémi Gomis, defender Koffi Djidji, and forward Abdoulaye Traoré all sidelined. Traoré has recently resumed training but is not yet ready to return to full fitness.
The squad traveling to Metz includes:
Goalkeepers: Badri, Dupé
Defenders: Alhadhur, Cissokho, Djilobodji, Hansen, Vizcarrondo, Veigneau
Midfielders: Bedoya, Bessat, Deaux, B. Touré, Veretout
Forwards: Aristeguieta, Audel, Bammou, Gakpé, Shechter
Nantes will be looking to secure a positive result as they seek to climb the Ligue 1 table early in the season.
