Vincent Aboubakar is off to an impressive start in his young career in the French championship. The Lorient striker is the team’s top scorer this season, having scored 6th and 7th goals against Evian Thonon-Gaillard last weekend. He currently ranks as the third-highest scorer in Ligue 1 after 14 matchdays. After a challenging season with Valenciennes last year, the 21-year-old Cameroonian international has found success with Lorient and is becoming a standout player for the team.
“I arrived at a very family club. People are united and constantly behind the team. At the beginning, they made it easier for me to integrate into the team. During the preparation, I was able to give the maximum of myself. I am someone who works a lot. It became automatic. It pays off, and that’s good,” Aboubakar said in an interview with Foot Express. His contributions have helped Lorient climb out of the relegation zone, particularly in a crucial match against Sochaux (2-1).
