Rio Mavuba has made his return. After being sidelined since the start of March due to a hamstring injury, the player of Congolese descent resumed training with his club, Lille, this Thursday.
According to coach René Girard, as reported on the northern club’s official website, the French international midfielder may “be ready to retain his position” for Saturday’s match against Nantes at home, marking the 29th day of Ligue 1.
This injury had previously prevented Mavuba from participating in the French team’s friendly match against the Netherlands on March 5th.
