Hamari Traoré Joins Stade de Reims from Lierse SK
Reims – Hamari Traoré, the 23-year-old Malian right-back, has completed a move to Stade de Reims in Ligue 1 after two seasons in the Jupiler Pro League with Lierse SK. Following Lierse’s relegation to the lower divisions, Traoré has opted for a fresh start in France, signing a three-year contract with the French top-flight club on Monday.
Having developed his skills at the Jean-Marc Guillo academy in Mali, Traoré’s potential was soon recognized by European clubs, with Anderlecht and Stade de Reims both interested in his services. However, the Malian international has chosen to join the Champenois, securing a move to Ligue 1 over Belgium’s top league.
Traoré’s speed and counter-attacking qualities have been highlighted as key assets for his new team. Didier Perrin, co-president of Stade de Reims, expressed his confidence in the signing: “Hamari will bring us his speed and his counter-attacking qualities,” Perrin said, emphasizing the impact the player could have on Reims’ defensive and attacking transitions.
Traoré’s arrival in Reims is expected to provide a significant boost to their defensive options, offering both defensive solidity and an attacking threat down the right flank. The Malian’s pace and ability to support counter-attacks could add a new dynamic to Reims’ play, as they look to improve upon last season’s performances in Ligue 1.
