In an impressive display against Marseille on Tuesday, Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama surpassed the record set by Paris Saint-Germain’s Sirigu, achieving an invincibility streak of 1035 minutes, spanning over 11 matches without conceding a goal. Enyeama now has his sights set on breaking the record of 1776 minutes held by Gaëtan Huard with Bordeaux during the 1992-1993 season. Coincidentally, Lille is set to face Bordeaux in the upcoming Ligue 1 match on Sunday, providing an opportunity for Bordeaux’s coach, Francis Gillot, to challenge the Super Eagle.
Expressing his intentions, Gillot stated, “Beating a big guy is the next step. We would like to beat Lille and have a reference against a good team. Lille is not giving up, Balmont is the symbol of this team for me.” Gillot also playfully mentioned a bet, saying, “I want to save my friend Gueguette’s record! I buy food for those who score on Sunday,” aiming to motivate Bordeaux’s attackers for the upcoming challenge.
