Vincent Aboubakar continues to shine and attract attention with his goal-scoring prowess. Despite declaring that his newfound status as a scorer hasn’t changed him much, the Cameroonian international found the back of the net once again, this time against Montpellier in a match of the 16th day of Ligue 1. Lorient emerged victorious with a 2-0 win, marking their fourth consecutive success.

Aboubakar took his time to score in this game, with the breakthrough moment coming in the 92nd minute when he converted a penalty caused by El Kaoutari. The Moroccan defender received a red card in the process, but Aboubakar remained focused and successfully converted the penalty.

Earlier in the game, Maxime Barthelme opened the scoring in the first period, contributing to Lorient’s victory. Aboubakar’s goal in this match brings his tally to nine goals since the start of the season, putting him on par with Falcao. Notably, Aboubakar has started every match for Lorient this season, showcasing his consistency and importance to the team. The tweet from FC Lorient Officiel emphasizes this point, highlighting that Aboubakar is the only Ligue 1 striker who hasn’t missed a single minute of play this season.
