Wahbi Khazri and Bordeaux were left disappointed after Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Metz in Ligue 1. The result was far from ideal as the Girondins had hoped to secure a win at home to push towards European qualification. Khazri, in an interview with beIN SPORTS, expressed his frustration with the missed chances:
“When you have chances and you don’t take them, you risk a defeat or a draw at home when you should be winning! We wanted to please our fans and get back to Marseille, but we obviously have regrets.”
Despite having opportunities to win, Bordeaux only managed to take one point. Khazri emphasized the importance of recovering from this setback:
“If we want to play in Europe, we will have to win our last matches and recover the points lost tonight.”
Bordeaux’s quest for European football remains alive, but the team will need to focus on capitalizing in their upcoming matches.
