In the opening match of the 23rd day of Ligue 1, PSG claimed a 2-0 victory over Bordeaux, with goals from Ibrahimovic in the 58th minute and Alex in the 88th minute. This win maintains PSG’s lead at the top of the table, with a six-point advantage over Monaco, who faced Lorient the following day.
After the game, Guillaume Hoarau shared his thoughts with Canal Plus Sport, as reported by football365, reflecting on the match against Bordeaux. “I think we were a bit cautious in the first half. Bordeaux is a tough team to play against. However, we gave it our all, but we might have some regrets from the first half. If we don’t manage to threaten them, it’s hard to sustain the pressure throughout the match. They were patient, and we made a few mistakes. It’s in these matches that we learn a lot. We shouldn’t just brush it off as ‘it’s Paris,’ but instead, analyze what went wrong, knowing that we won’t face PSG every week,” explained the Reunion striker.
Hoarau acknowledged the challenge of facing PSG, saying, “When it’s still 0-0 against Paris, we feel it’s not bad. We had a promising match recently against Saint-Etienne. However, tonight (Friday), we couldn’t replicate the same performance, and that’s disappointing. But defeating Paris is an accomplishment. There are certain standards we cannot afford to fall short of, and the learning process continues tonight.”
Reflecting on his return to face PSG, the former PSG scorer expressed gratitude, saying, “It’s heartwarming. PSG has one of the best audiences in France. I had some great moments here. I’m grateful to everyone for their support. Now, I’m forging ahead, hoping to bring joy to other supporters as I did here.”
