Lifa Makua: South African Attacking Midfielder Joins Durban City FC from Casric Stars in Completed Switch

South African attacking midfielder Lifa Makua has joined Durban City FC from Casric Stars in a confirmed move ahead of the 2026–27 Betway Premiership season.

Makua, who operates primarily in the No.10 role, links up with the Durban side after a spell with Casric Stars, where he gained experience in domestic cup and play-off football. The switch was finalised on 24 July 2026, adding an additional creative option to Durban City’s midfield department.

During his time at Casric Stars, Makua featured in the Nedbank Cup and the PSL promotion-relegation play-offs, making a total of six appearances across the two competitions. He registered one assist in 438 minutes of Nedbank Cup action and also played in the promotion-relegation series, underlining his exposure to high-stakes fixtures at senior level.

Makua had first linked up with Casric Stars in 2023, having previously been unattached before that move. His performances since then have been enough to earn a place in Durban City’s squad as the club prepare for life in the Betway Premiership.

The attacking midfielder now begins a new chapter with Durban City FC, with the transfer from Casric Stars completed on a permanent basis for the 2026–27 campaign.
