Libyan football federation opens nominations for board elections
This pivotal event marks a significant step in the governance of football in Libya, with candidates vying for positions within the federation’s leadership.
In a statement released via its official Facebook page, the federation provided details about the electoral process.
The final list of candidates is expected to be revealed on November 28, 2024, after which there will be a five-day period for submitting appeals.
This ensures transparency and accountability in the election process, allowing for any concerns to be addressed before the final slate of candidates is confirmed.
The elections will take place in the city of Benghazi on December 14, 2024, with all candidates required to meet specific eligibility criteria outlined by the election commission.
These regulations are designed to uphold the integrity of the process and ensure that only qualified individuals will represent the interests of Libyan football at the highest levels.
The outcome of these elections will be crucial in shaping the future of football in Libya, as the new board will play a key role in managing the sport’s development, fostering local talent, and enhancing Libya’s competitive standing on the international stage.
With the elections fast approaching, all eyes will be on Benghazi as the football community eagerly anticipates the next chapter for the Libyan Football Federation.
