Al-Ittihad has turned a new page by bringing in one of Egypt’s most respected football figures, Ismail Youssef, to guide the club’s football affairs for the coming season.
The Libyan side confirmed the appointment on Saturday, describing Youssef as a figure of proven quality and vision.
A statement from the federation read, “One of the most prominent names in Egyptian football, with extensive experience and distinguished successes both as a player and even on the administrative level… Ismail Youssef has been appointed Director of Football Affairs at Al-Ittihad Club.”
Youssef arrives in Tripoli after stepping down from his role as head of the youth sector at Ceramica Cleopatra SC. His career is rich with achievements, having featured for the Egyptian national team at the 1990 World Cup and lifting numerous trophies with Zamalek.
Nicknamed “The Tiger of Egyptian Football,” Youssef has led clubs such as El Gouna, El Entag El Harby, and Zed, and also held senior roles at Zamalek. His experience is expected to shape Al-Ittihad’s ambitions both locally and on the continental stage.
