Al-Hilal, the Libyan football club, has formally presented an offer to secure the services of Nigerian forward Junior Ajayi from Smouha, as a loan deal until the end of the current season.
Hazem Fatouh, the player’s agent, revealed in exclusive statements to “Kooora”: “Ajayi has received this official offer, and his departure dossier is currently in the hands of Smouha’s management.”
He added: “Ajayi has returned to participate in friendly matches and training after recovering from the injury.”
Junior Ajayi previously played for Libya’s Al-Nasr from February to July 2022.
He gained prominence during his time with Egypt’s Al-Ahly from 2016 to 2022, contributing to several triumphs for the Red Castle, including clinching the CAF Champions League twice.
It is noteworthy that Smouha signed Ajayi in the summer of 2022.
However, the player suffered a severe injury last season, and the injury recurred in the current season, preventing him from participating in any official matches with the Alexandria-based team.
The formal approach from Al-Hilal to secure Junior Ajayi indicates the club’s keen interest in reinforcing its attacking prowess for the remainder of the season.
Ajayi’s track record, especially his successful stint with Al-Ahly, suggests that his potential addition could significantly impact Al-Hilal’s offensive dynamics.
