Liberia returns to second place in Group J of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. The Lone Stars won easily against Uganda 2-0 this Sunday in Paynesville. Patrick Wleh opened the scoring in the first period in the 37th minute. In the second period, Anthony Laffor allowed Liberia to consolidate their victory. The Lone Stars are now second in the group with 4 points behind Senegal who have 5 points. Angola is 3rd with 3 points and Uganda last with 2 points. Senegal was held in check on Saturday in Conakry by Angola (1-1).

Liberia has reclaimed the second spot in Group J of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers with a comfortable 2-0 victory against Uganda in Paynesville.

In the second half, Anthony Laffor secured Liberia’s win, helping them consolidate their position in the group. The Lone Stars now sit in second place with 4 points, trailing behind Senegal, which leads the group with 5 points. Angola follows closely in third place with 3 points, and Uganda occupies the last position with 2 points.

In a related match on Saturday, Senegal was held to a 1-1 draw in Conakry by Angola. The results set the stage for an intriguing competition in Group J as teams vie for a spot in the 2014 World Cup.
