Leverkusen fight to keep Christian Kofane amid huge Saudi bid

Bayer Leverkusen are preparing for a major test of their resolve as Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad line up a huge move for teenage forward Christian Kofane.

Transfer Feed reports that the Jeddah club is ready to table a €50 million offer for the 19-year-old Cameroonian, whom they view as a generational talent with world-class potential.

Despite the eye-catching figure, Leverkusen have little interest in cashing in. The Bundesliga champions regard Kofane as a key piece of their long-term project after signing him in July 2025, and he is tied down on a contract until June 30, 2029. That long deal gives the Werkself strong leverage as bigger clubs start circling.

Al-Ittihad are not alone in monitoring his progress. Kofane’s rapid adaptation to the Bundesliga has attracted attention from several European heavyweights, with Arsenal and Barcelona among the clubs reportedly tracking him closely. For now, Leverkusen are keen to keep outside noise at bay and focus on the run-in, starting with their upcoming league clash against Hamburger SV this weekend, even as speculation around their prized young striker continues to grow.
