Lesotho coach Leslie Notsi has eulogized the performance of South Africa following their defeat in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers last Friday.
The Bafana Bafana prevailed with a 2-0 victory over Lesotho to move top of Group C in the qualifying series after five matches.
Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng netted his first international goal in the 60th minute, while Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jayden Adams doubled the lead four minutes later.
Notsi has, however, spoken with great admiration and appreciation about performance of South Africa under coach Hugo Broos.
“You know, tactically, they have improved a lot. So, there is a lot of speed that they play with,” said Notsi in Polokwane.
“Another thing is the core of the team. I mean, when you look at it, it is made up of the [players from] teams that are doing well. They are doing well internationally in the CAF inter-club competitions’
“So, the exposure that they have and how they conduct themselves in their respective clubs, you would expect to have a team like the current one. Also, the self-belief is there. But, it is something that has always been there for the South African football national teams”
The Bafana Bafana are on top of Group C, accumulating 10 points after five matches into the qualifiers.
