Leroy Sane’s future at Bayern Munich is now under intense scrutiny, with the winger’s contract set to expire at the end of the season.
While Bayern’s sports director, Max Eberl, is keen to retain the German star, financial constraints are clouding the negotiations. Sane, earning up to €20 million a year, could see his basic salary reduced in favor of a performance-based deal, with bonuses tied to match appearances and individual milestones.
Bayern’s decision-making process is far from rushed, with talks expected to stretch into the spring, possibly settling by March or April. However, the club is prepared to explore a potential January transfer if the right offer materializes. Despite this, Sane has made it clear he has no intention of leaving mid-season, insisting on staying until the summer.
Should an agreement fail to materialize, Sane could walk away from Bayern as a free agent, adding further uncertainty to his future at the Bavarian club.
