Leroy Abanda: French-Cameroonian left-back joins Kifisia on free transfer from Volos
French-Cameroonian defender Leroy Abanda has joined Greek top-flight side Kifisia on a free transfer from Super League 1 rivals Volos NFC. The 26-year-old left-back has signed a deal running until 30 June 2027.
Abanda, who was born in Le Blanc-Mesnil and stands at 1.80m, moves within the Greek top tier after leaving Volos at the end of his contract. The transfer was completed on 28 July 2026, with Kifisia securing the player without a fee.
Comfortable on the left side of defence and preferring his left foot, Abanda adds depth and competition in a key area of the pitch for Kifisia as they prepare for the new Super League 1 campaign. His current market value is listed at €450,000, underlining the value of the deal for the Athens-based club.
The move also marks a new chapter for Abanda in Greek football, remaining in a league and environment he already knows from his time at Volos. His blend of French and Cameroonian nationality adds to the growing cosmopolitan mix within the Super League 1.
Abanda’s contract with Kifisia is scheduled to run for one season, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2027.
