Nigerian international, Leon Balogun has called for focus ahead of the Super Eagles’ upcoming games in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Next month, the Super Eagles will take on Rwanda and Zimbabwe in two important games in the qualifiers.
After four matches in the qualifying campaign, Nigeria sits fifth in Group C.
Speaking to Ayodele Olu Ibidapo on his official YouTube channel, Leon Balogun indicated all is not lost despite the poor start in the qualifies.
He is confident that if the Super Eagles remain focused, they can still qualify for the World Cup.
“Recently we fell short but nobody is free from errors. We have six games left so that’s six chances to make it right. So why not go in there with supreme confidence? Look at the names, there’s no team that you have to hide from. We need to focus on ourselves,” Balogun shared.
He further commended the NFF for the appointment of Eric Chelle as head coach of the Super Eagles.
“The NFF has done a great job in getting a new manager just in time so he can scout and assess players and get enough time. I think he’s blessed with a very good foundation with the potential in the squad,” Balogun stated.
