Antoine Kombouaré expressed his disappointment following Lens’ defeat against Caen this Saturday (1-0). The Franco-Burkinabe coach, accustomed to seeing his team secure victories, found it difficult to accept the loss. He particularly criticized his team’s performance in attack, suggesting that Lens could have played for another hour without finding the back of the net.

“I feel more than regret; it’s a huge disappointment. In the first half, we were unable to play, to move forward. We saw another side of Lens in the second half, as we played higher. I appreciated the reaction ability of my players,” said Kombouaré.

Looking ahead to the next match against Niort at Bollaert, Kombouaré indicated that he would rely on his players’ response in the second half against Caen. He also expressed bewilderment at Ljuboja’s missed opportunity, remarking, “This afternoon, I think we could have played another hour without scoring. We still wonder how Ljuboja could not put the ball in the empty goal.”
