Spanish teenager Lamini Fati has completed a move from CD Leganés to Real Madrid in a deal worth €120,000.
Leganés confirmed the transfer in a statement, highlighting the 18-year-old’s journey through their youth ranks and his contributions to the club.
“CD Leganés and Real Madrid CF have agreed to the transfer of 18-year-old Lamini Fati. The youth player from the white and blue team will leave the pepinera discipline to continue his career with the Merengues team,” the statement read.
Fati began his development in Leganés’ youth system, advancing through various age groups. During the 2023/24 season, he was part of the Juvenil ‘A’ team, which secured a third-place finish in the División de Honor league and reached the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey youth competition.
This season, Fati has been a standout for Leganés’ reserve team, accumulating over 900 minutes of playing time and scoring a goal in the 13th matchday of the Tercera Federation.
As Fati embarks on his new chapter with Real Madrid, Leganés expressed their gratitude and well-wishes for the young talent.
“The club wishes him the best of luck in this new stage,” the statement concluded.
Real Madrid’s acquisition of Fati underscores their continued investment in young talent, with the teenager poised to make his mark within the club’s renowned development system.
