Leeds ready to shut down Chelsea approach for captain Ethan Ampadu

Leeds United are prepared to reject any offers for captain Ethan Ampadu this season, despite growing transfer speculation linking the Wales international with a return to former club Chelsea.

According to Football Insider, Leeds regard the 26-year-old midfielder as a central figure in their plans and are unwilling to entertain a departure during the current campaign.

Manager Daniel Farke has reportedly made his position clear to the club’s ownership, asking them not to consider offers for Ampadu should approaches arrive.

The midfielder’s importance to Leeds has grown further following his decision to commit his future to the club with a contract extension running until 2030.

Ampadu has established himself as an influential figure at Elland Road since joining Leeds, while his leadership has also seen him take on the captaincy.
