Belgian-Angolan midfielder Leandre Kuavita, currently without a club after leaving Standard Liege this summer, is being linked with a move to Jupiler Pro League side SK Beveren.

The 22-year-old central midfielder became a free agent on 1 July 2026 after his latest spell at Standard came to an end, and Beveren are understood to be exploring the possibility of bringing him in as a cost-effective reinforcement in the centre of the park. Kuavita is valued at around €700,000, but any deal would be structured as a free transfer due to his current status.

Born in Verviers and left-footed, Kuavita has already accumulated notable top-flight experience in Belgium. He has made 44 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League, scoring once and providing one assist across 2,175 minutes of league action, as well as featuring in domestic cup ties and play-off matches. He also has extensive game time in the Challenger Pro League, where he has played 31 times and scored three goals.

Kuavita’s career to date has been closely tied to Standard, progressing through their youth ranks after joining from KAS Eupen’s academy in 2019 and moving up through the under-18 and under-21 sides before breaking into senior football. A loan spell at Genoa’s Primavera team in 2023-24 briefly took him to Italy before he returned to Liege and later switched between Standard’s first team and SL16 FC.

With no contract currently in place, Kuavita is free to negotiate directly with interested clubs, and Beveren’s interest places the midfielder among the more prominent young free agents on the Belgian market this summer.
