Lyon secured their place in the 16th finals of the Europa League by defeating Betis Seville 1-0 on the 5th day of the competition. Bafetimbi Gomis, the Franco-Senegalese striker, scored the decisive goal in the 66th minute after a setup by Yoann Gourcuff. Despite missing several chances earlier in the match, Alexandre Lacazette, among others, Lyon did enough to claim the victory. Manager Rémi Garde expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance.
