The nominees for the Ballon de Plomb parody award, presented to the worst footballer of the year based on criteria like sporting performances, mentality, and career choices, have been revealed by Les Cahiers du football. Among the six nominees is the young Ghanaian player from Olympique de Marseille, Jordan Ayew. His teammate Florian Thauvin is also on the list, along with Alou Diarra, Florian Marange (Bordeaux), David Bellion, and Joey Barton (former OM player).
The voting for the Ballon de Plomb award will take place on the Cahiers du foot website from January 3 to 10. This parody award has been given annually since 2003 and has featured previous winners such as Francis Llacer, Fabrice Fiorèse, and Moussa Maazou. Last year, the Tunisian Issam Jemaa was distinguished as the worst footballer of the year.
