Le Havre and Nantes pursue DR Congo goalkeeper Obed Nkambadio

Democratic Republic of Congo goalkeeper Obed Nkambadio is attracting interest from two French clubs, with Le Havre and Nantes reportedly exploring a move for the Paris FC player.

Both sides are searching for cover in goal following injuries to their respective first-choice options, and talks are said to have begun with the 23-year-old.

Two clubs seek goalkeeping reinforcement

According to Le Parisien, Le Havre and Nantes have identified Nkambadio as a potential solution to their goalkeeping problems.

Le Havre are looking for a replacement following an injury to Lionel Mpasi, while Nantes are also in need of cover after Alexis Mirbach was sidelined.

The two clubs, both relegated to Ligue 2 this season, have reportedly opened discussions over a possible move for the Paris FC goalkeeper.

Nkambadio seeking regular football

Nkambadio has spent almost a year as understudy to experienced German goalkeeper Kevin Trapp at Paris FC.

With his contract running until 2027, a move away from the French capital could offer the Congolese goalkeeper an opportunity to return to regular first-team football.

However, Paris FC are reportedly reluctant to lose the 23-year-old, with the club’s management said to be counting on him for the upcoming campaign.

Strong record for Paris FC academy product

A product of the Paris FC academy, Nkambadio has established himself as one of the club’s notable homegrown players.

He has made 80 appearances across all competitions, recording 27 clean sheets while conceding 88 goals.

The goalkeeper featured 15 times during the 2025-26 season.
