Lazio enquire about Marseille forward Amine Gouiri

Amine Gouiri’s future at Olympique Marseille remains uncertain, with Lazio reportedly gathering information about the Algerian forward.

According to Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, the Serie A club are exploring several attacking options as they search for additional firepower.

Lazio are considering Gouiri alongside Mauro Icardi, Andrea Pinamonti and Lorenzo Lucca. Icardi has yet to decide his next step, while Lazio are expected to hold further discussions with Sassuolo over Pinamonti. Napoli, meanwhile, would prefer to keep Lucca, encouraging the Roman club to examine alternatives.

At this stage, Lazio’s interest in Gouiri is limited to an initial enquiry. No formal offer has been submitted to Marseille, and there are no advanced negotiations between the clubs. The 26-year-old therefore remains an OM player, with his situation still open during the final weeks of the transfer window.

Gouiri has attracted attention from several foreign teams this summer, including Atletico Madrid, Villarreal, Como and Everton. Lazio have also previously contacted people close to the striker, making their latest enquiry another indication of his appeal abroad.

Marseille coach Bruno Genesio would like to retain Gouiri, whom he has known since the player’s early professional career. However, the club’s financial circumstances mean the management must consider suitable offers before making a final decision.
