Latif Ouedraogo: Burkina Faso left-back at Genoa U20 linked with move to FC Rapid 1923
Burkina Faso defender Latif Ouedraogo, currently with Genoa U20, is being linked with a move to Romanian SuperLiga side FC Rapid 1923 in one of the latest cross-border youth transfer rumours in Europe.
The 18-year-old left-back only joined Genoa’s youth ranks in January 2026, arriving from Virtus Francavilla, and is under contract with the Italian club until 30 June 2029. Any approach from Rapid would therefore require the Bucharest club to find an agreement with Genoa, who have tied the player down on a long-term deal. His current estimated value is around €1 million.
Ouedraogo has already had a taste of senior football in Italy, having made two Serie A appearances for Genoa, as well as featuring in youth and development competitions. Across the current campaign he has appeared in domestic league and cup action, including outings in Primavera 1 and the prestigious Viareggio Cup, building up experience at both academy and first-team level.
Before stepping up to Genoa, Ouedraogo played for Virtus Francavilla after an earlier spell in the Casarano youth system, progressing through the Italian pyramid as a left-footed full-back. His combination of exposure to Serie A minutes and regular youth-team football has attracted attention from outside Italy, with Rapid 1923 monitoring options to strengthen on the left side of their defence.
No agreement has been reached and the deal remains at the rumour stage, with Ouedraogo continuing as a Genoa U20 player under a contract that runs for another three years.
