The ninth round of the Jawy League for Elite Under-21s ended with Mousa Adam’s stoppage-time equaliser rescuing Al-Ahli in the Jeddah derby, while Al-Taawoun took advantage of dropped points at the top of the table.
The matches were played on Sunday and Monday, 1 and 2 November, in the 2026-27 season. The fixture between Al-Tadamun and Al-Hilal was postponed.
Al-Ittihad looked set to claim derby bragging rights after Abdulaziz Al-Shammari put them ahead in the 17th minute. The league leaders held on to their advantage until the fourth minute of added time, when Mousa Adam struck to earn Al-Ahli a share of the points.
The draw left Al-Ahli four points behind Al-Ittihad. They now have 18 points in second place and remain in contention for top spot, while Al-Ittihad were denied the chance to extend their lead over their local rivals.
Al-Nassr continued their positive run with a 2-0 victory over Al-Khaleej. Abdulrahman Al-Anazi scored both goals, finding the net in the 18th and 45th minutes.
Al-Taawoun also moved closer to the leading sides after winning 2-0 away from home at Al-Watn. Abdulmajid Al-Sharif scored in the first and 28th minutes, securing three points that strengthened the club’s position in third place.
Al-Najma complete second-half comeback
Al-Najma produced one of the round’s biggest comebacks against Al-Qadsiah. The hosts appeared to be in control after Mohannad Al-Jizani scored twice, in the third and 26th minutes.
Al-Najma turned the match around after half-time. Jathoub Al-Dhafiri reduced the deficit in the 50th minute, before Ronald Viscaino completed the comeback with goals in the 65th and 87th minutes. The 3-2 win added to Al-Qadsiah’s difficulties after another defeat.
Elsewhere, Damac beat Al-Okhdood 3-2, Al-Wehda defeated Al-Orobah 1-0, and Al-Ettifaq won 2-1 against Al-Ansar. Al-Fateh recorded a 3-0 victory over Al-Faisaly, while Al-Riyadh edged past Al-Hazem 1-0.
Al-Jabalain and Neom drew 0-0, while Al-Fayha beat Al-Kholood 3-2.
A total of 29 goals were scored in 11 matches during the round, averaging 2.6 per game. That was down from the 36 goals recorded across 12 matches in the eighth round.
Three matches produced five goals each: Damac’s win over Al-Okhdood, Al-Najma’s comeback against Al-Qadsiah and Al-Fayha’s victory over Al-Kholood.
The round also featured 52 yellow cards and nine red cards. It was the highest number of dismissals recorded in the competition so far.
