Former Raja Casablanca coach Lassaad Chabbi says he has been left deeply hurt by the club’s decision to part ways with him after just two games into the new Moroccan league season.

“This is the second time I’ve been sacked in the same way,” Chabbi said. “The first time was after a draw in the derby against Wydad, and this time after a draw in the clásico against the army, and after only tw

Chabbi revealed that the manner in which he was informed of his dismissal added to the pain.

“My records with Raja are outstanding. I’ve had more wins than losses. What hurt me was that I learned of the dismissal decision through Facebook, before I was sure it was true. I needed another chance, especially since the team hadn’t lost in the league yet.”

“I will not complain about the team to external sports bodies, even if I don’t receive my dues, because I respect Raja and its fans. No one will take away what I have achieved. I won two titles with the club and left a positive impression, but being dismissed twice in the same way was very painful,” he added.

Raja Casablanca has since confirmed the appointment of South African coach Fadlu Davids as Chabbi’s replacement.
