South African-Dutch striker Lars Veldwijk, currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Indonesian side PSM Makassar.

The 35-year-old centre-forward became unattached on 30 August 2026 after leaving Al-Nahda, having joined the club from Emirates Club in July. No transfer fee has been recorded for his departure.

Veldwijk’s potential move would take him to Indonesia’s Super League, adding another destination to a career spanning the Netherlands, England, Belgium, Norway, South Korea, Spain, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.

The 1.97m forward has previously played for clubs including Excelsior, Nottingham Forest, PEC Zwolle, KV Kortrijk, FC Groningen, Sparta Rotterdam, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and Suwon FC. His strongest statistical return came in the Dutch second tier, where he scored 68 goals in 107 appearances, while he recorded 31 goals in 93 K League 1 matches.

Veldwijk also helped Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors win the South Korean title in the 2019-20 season and was the Jupiler League’s leading scorer in 2013-14, when he scored 30 goals.

PSM Makassar are the club currently linked with the striker, but the move remains at rumour stage. Veldwijk’s present status is that of an unattached player following his recent exit from Al-Nahda.
