Langelihle Phili joins Kaizer Chiefs from Stellenbosch FC

South Africa winger Langelihle Phili has joined Kaizer Chiefs from Stellenbosch FC, bringing the 21-year-old left winger to the club in a move completed on 3 August 2026.

The transfer keeps Phili in the Betway Premiership, with both Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC competing in South Africa’s top division. No fee has been disclosed for the move.

Phili was born on 21 January 2005 in Tshelimnyama and plays primarily on the left wing. He is listed at 1.69m and has represented South Africa at under-20 level, winning the Under-20 Africa Cup with the national side in 2025.

His arrival comes at the beginning of the 2026-27 Betway Premiership campaign. Phili had not made an appearance in the competition before completing the switch to Kaizer Chiefs, with his record showing no starts, goals or assists at the time of the transfer.

The move represents a step from Stellenbosch FC to one of South Africa’s most recognised clubs, while keeping the attacker in a familiar domestic competition. Phili’s age and international youth achievement provide the main background to his arrival, with the South African winger now joining Kaizer Chiefs’ squad for the new campaign.

The transfer also gives Phili a change of club after his spell with Stellenbosch FC, although the available career record does not include further senior statistical details. His preferred position remains the left wing, where he will compete for opportunities within the Kaizer Chiefs squad.

Phili’s move from Stellenbosch FC to Kaizer Chiefs was completed on 3 August 2026.
