Lane Nhaga has completed a free transfer from Pro Gorizia to Orvietana, joining the Serie D side on a deal starting on 06/12/2025 and running until 30/06/2026.
The 28-year-old centre-forward moves within Italy after a short spell at Pro Gorizia, strengthening an Orvietana attack preparing to compete in Serie D – Girone E. The move comes at no cost in terms of transfer fee, with the player switching clubs as a free transfer following Pro Gorizia’s most recent campaign.
Nhaga, born in Bissau and holding both Guinea-Bissau and Portuguese nationality, is listed at 1.84m and operates primarily as a central striker, favouring his right foot. His arrival gives Orvietana a physically imposing option through the middle, as the Umbrian club look to bolster their squad depth for the new season.
The forward’s career has taken him through a long list of clubs, largely in Portugal’s lower divisions before his more recent move to Italy. After coming through the youth ranks at Benfica and then Beira-Mar’s academy sides, he stepped up to senior football with CD Feirense and then embarked on a series of moves that took in AD Limianos, Juventude de Pedras Salgadas, FC Oliveira do Hospital, SC Alba, GD Gafanha, ARC Oleiros, Benfica Castelo Branco and Associação Lusitano de Évora 1911.
A switch to Italy followed when Nhaga signed for APC Chions ahead of the 2024-25 season. His performances there saw his market value, as recorded in early 2025, rise into the tens of thousands of euros, reflecting a productive spell before a subsequent move to Pro Gorizia within the same year. From there, he now takes another step in his Italian journey with the move to Orvietana.
The transfer also underlines the pattern of Nhaga’s career, which has increasingly taken him away from his home footballing base in Portugal and Guinea-Bissau into the Italian game. Having already adjusted to Italian football at Chions and Pro Gorizia, he arrives at Orvietana with experience of the local style and conditions, which may ease his integration into the Serie D – E campaign.
For Orvietana, the signing is a low-risk addition with potential upside, given his varied background across Portuguese and Italian clubs and his grounding in well-known academies. For Nhaga, the contract through to 30/06/2026 offers stability and a platform to re-establish momentum at senior level. If he makes the most of this spell in Serie D, it could yet shape the next phase of his career and determine whether he secures a longer stay in Italy or explores new opportunities once his Orvietana deal expires.
