Uli Hoeness, the former president of Bayern Munich, was sentenced to three and a half years in prison for tax evasion. He was initially sent to the Landsberg am Lech penitentiary center. However, Hoeness was not pleased with the conditions there, as the prison had opened its doors to the media on April 1, making it a less private environment than he would have preferred.
In response to this, Hoeness requested a transfer to the Landshut prison, where the cells are reportedly more comfortable and offer more privacy. These cells are equipped with modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs and modern beds.
Hoeness’s request to change prisons was seen as an attempt to maintain a more comfortable living standard during his incarceration. Despite being removed from the Hall of Fame due to his conviction, Hoeness remains a significant figure in the world of football and his legal troubles have garnered significant media attention.
