Lamine Yamal’s Paris break offers a glimpse of Barcelona’s October European destination

Lamine Yamal has taken advantage of a brief break to visit Paris, just weeks before Barcelona are due to return to the French capital for a UEFA Champions League meeting with Paris Saint-Germain.

The 19-year-old has started the season strongly, scoring twice in three appearances for Barcelona and again underlining his status as one of the players expected to attract close attention during the campaign.

Yamal is preparing for Barcelona’s La Liga fixture against Valencia next Sunday, but the short gap in the club’s schedule has allowed him to travel away from Catalonia. According to French outlet Foot Mercato, the forward made his way to Paris and spent time enjoying the city.

He also shared glimpses of the trip through his social media accounts, offering followers an insight into his visit to the French capital.

The destination will not be unfamiliar to Yamal for long. Barcelona are scheduled to travel to the Parc des Princes on 20 October to face Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League, making the teenager’s latest visit an early look at the setting for the upcoming European fixture.

Barcelona have made a perfect start to their defence of the La Liga title, winning each of their opening three matches. Their victories have come against Elche, Athletic Club and Rayo Vallecano, giving them a strong beginning to the domestic campaign.

Yamal has scored two goals during those first three games and has once again emerged as one of Barcelona’s key attacking players. His performances have strengthened expectations that he will remain an important figure for the Catalan side throughout the season.

His Paris trip comes before Barcelona’s next domestic test against Valencia, as the club look to continue their winning run in La Liga. It also comes ahead of an increasingly familiar journey, with the Parc des Princes set to host one of Barcelona’s major European assignments in October.

The brief break has therefore combined personal time in Paris with a preview of a venue Yamal and his team-mates will soon visit for competitive reasons. For now, however, Barcelona’s immediate focus remains on Valencia and maintaining their unbeaten start to the league campaign.
