Jorge Mendes, the agent of the Spanish-Moroccan youngster, Lamine Yamal insist his client will renew contract with Barcelona.
Yamal, considered as one of the best youngsters globally gained prominence following his swashbuckling for Barcelona and the Spanish national team last season.
The talented winger, who came through La Masia was instrumental when Spain emerged winners at the 2024 European Championship, held in Germany.
At age 17, Yamal has already won La Liga with Barcelona and the European Championship (2024) with Spain.
Following a meeting in Portugal, Jorge Mendes affirms his client will extend his contract with Barcelona, with his current deal set to expire in summer 2026.
“Lamine will definitely sign a new contract with Barcelona. It’s guaranteed. We talked about Lamine just today, he will stay with a new contract,” he said.
The Spanish interantional, who has Morocco and Equitorial Guinea descent has been impressive in the ongoing campaign for Barcelona. He has racked up 11 goals and provided 16 assists in 35 matches across comeptitions.
He is expected to play a huge role when his outfit take on Benfica in the Champions League round 16 clash on Wednesday night.
