Spanish international of Morocco descent Lamine Yamal has recommended Samu Omorodion Aghehowa for Barcelona as the club seeks for a long-term replacement for ageing Robert Lewandowski.
The 20-year-old, who marked his debut for the Spain national team in November 2024 has been impressive for Porto in the ongoing campaign, scoring 20 goals in 32 matches across competitions.
His outstanding performance has caught the attention of several clubs including Chelsea and Aston Villa, as they seek to bolster their squad for next season.
Omorodion joined Porto last summer from Atletico Madrid and has since established himself as key cog to the team.
Barcelona are expected to sign a new striker in the summer, with Yamal expressing ultimate believe in the Spanish-Nigerian striker.
According to reports in Spain, Yamal is pushing Barcelona to complete a deal for the 20-year-old as he believes Aghehowa is destined to be the great Spanish striker of the next decade.
Several strikers including Viktor Gyokeres, Alexander Isak and Jonathan David have all been tipped to join Barcelona this summer.
However, Aghehowa has seemingly emerged as a priority target for Barcelona following Yamal’s purported transfer plea.
Aghehowa has just over four years remaining on his contract at Porto and has an estimated transfer value of €70.2 million.
