Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal is set to begin the 2025/26 season with a full pre-season campaign just after turning 18.
The talented forward will reunite with the squad and national teammates next Sunday as they begin preparations at the Ciutat Esportiva de Sant Joan Despi.
Yamal will first go through routine medical checks and fitness tests before participating in the team’s opening double session scheduled for Monday, July 14.
Before his return to training, the club will host a special event to mark the official start of his new long-term contract. Though he signed the extension in May, the deal, which runs until 2031, only comes into effect on his birthday this Sunday.
The ceremony, which will be held at the club’s offices, is expected to include his close family members, including his paternal grandmother and brother, who weren’t present during the initial signing.
The celebration highlights how highly the club values the young star, now entering his first full season as a senior player with Barcelona.
