Lamine Yamal reveals ambition to make football history

Lamine Yamal has revealed that his ambitions stretch far beyond collecting individual awards.

The Barcelona teenager wants to leave a lasting mark on football and be remembered long after his playing career ends.

Speaking to L’Equipe, Yamal explained that his greatest motivation is building a legacy strong enough to inspire future generations.

“I play to make history, so that 30 years from now the young people will say, ‘He was really good too,’” he said.

The winger also made it clear that he does not want his career defined by comparisons with other stars. Instead, Yamal hopes supporters will recognise him for his own style, personality and achievements.

“I don’t want to compare myself to anyone. I want to be Lamine Yamal, I want you to remember me as Lamine Yamal and I hope to be among the greats,” he added.

Yamal has already won three league titles despite his young age, but those successes have not reduced his hunger. He believes elite players must continue setting new targets rather than becoming satisfied with previous honours.

“I think you can never stop, you can always win over and over again,” Yamal said.

His comments show a player determined to turn early success into a remarkable career and create a legacy entirely his own.
