The 17-year-old forward, with Moroccan and Equatorial Guinean roots, played a crucial role in FC Barcelona’s hard-earned 1-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano, with Robert Lewandowski scoring the only goal.
Yamal’s 100 career appearances are split between 83 games for Barcelona and 17 with the Spanish national team, with whom he won the 2024 European Championship this past summer.
It was his first major trophy, and he played a pivotal part in Spain’s success.
His standout performances have come against Athletic Bilbao and Granada, with Yamal netting three goals in two appearances against Granada. He has also scored three times against Athletic in five matches.
