Spain international of Moroccan descent Lamine Yamal is racing against time to be fit for the UEFA Champions League clash against Paris Saint Germain next week.

In a high-stake clash on Wednesday, October 1, 2023, the Spanish giants will play host to the defending champions in matchday two of the league phase.

Barcelona are now sweating about the fitness of Yamal as the team gear up for the cunch game against PSG.

Yamal returned from the September international break injured, and has since not featured for Barcelona.

Having missed his outfit last three games, the talented winger, who also has Equatorial Guinea root is expected to return to action for the Spanish giants in the coming days after returning to training.

Yamal has started individual sessions on the pitch, marking a crucial step in his recovery. He is expected to return to Barcelona’s squad in the coming weeks.

However, Yamal, who recently won the Copa del Rey for the second consecutive time, is racing against time to be fit for Barcelona’s crucial Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain in early October.

The young player hopes to play a few minutes against Real Sociedad to regain full fitness before the European match.

Per reports, Yamal is keen to gradually start against Real Sociedad next Sunday at the Estadio Olimpico Luis Companys to get him fully prepared for the match against Paris Saint-Germain next Wednesday.

Yamal will miss Thursday’s match against Real Oviedo at the Carlos Tartieri Stadium, missing his fourth consecutive match with Barcelona, after also missing against Valencia (6-0), Newcastle (1-2), and Getafe (3-0), matches in which the team achieved three victories, during which they scored 12 goals and conceded only one.

The young star has not yet participated in group training with his teammates, and is not expected to train today either. However, optimism prevails regarding his gradual return, which will be an important factor in the crucial match against the Parisian game.
