Lamine Yamal has been ruled out for three to four weeks due to an injury.
The 17-year-old who is of Moroccan and Equatorial Guinean descent picked up an injury during Barcelona’s match against CD Leganes on Sunday.
The winger suffered a blow to his right ankle, and tests on Monday confirmed a grade 1 injury to the anterior tibiofibular ligament.
A club statement read, “The first team player Lamine Yamal received a blow to the right ankle during the game against CD Leganés on Sunday.
“Tests carried out on Monday have revealed that the player has a grade 1 injury to the anterior tibiofibular ligament in the ankle. The player is expected to be out for 3 to 4 weeks.”
Yamal was forced off in the 75th minute, with Gavi replacing him. Barcelona have confirmed that Yamal is expected to be sidelined for 3 to 4 weeks.
The attacker has been a livewire for Barcelona in the ongoing campaign, scoring six goals in all competitions with 11 assists.
