Lamine Yamal became the first player in more than eight years to score inside the opening six minutes of three consecutive international matches after helping Spain beat Czechia 3-1 in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday.
The Barcelona forward opened the scoring in the sixth minute, continuing a run that had already seen him find the net against England and Croatia in Spain’s previous two matches.
According to football statistics account MisterChip on X, Yamal is the first player since Anton Zemlyanukhin to score within the first six minutes in three successive games for his country.
Zemlyanukhin achieved the feat with Kyrgyzstan between December 2017 and March 2018. He scored after one minute against Brunei, five minutes against Myanmar and two minutes against India.
Yamal matched that record by scoring in the second minute against England, again in the second minute against Croatia, and in the sixth minute against Czechia.
