Lamine Yamal has what it takes to win the Ballon d’Or – Raphinha

Raphinha has thrown his support behind Barcelona teammate Lamine Yamal in the Ballon d’Or race, insisting the young winger has every quality needed to win football’s most prestigious individual award.

Asked whether Yamal is the ideal candidate, Barcelona’s captain gave an emphatic response. “Without a doubt, yes,” Raphinha said.

The Brazilian believes the award is decided by more than a player’s reputation. Individual statistics, team trophies and the special creativity a footballer brings to matches all play important roles. In his view, Yamal already possesses the complete package.

“I think winning the Ballon d’Or depends on individual statistics, team trophies and the magic you have on the pitch. Charisma and all that. These are the most important factors, and Lamine has all of that,” Raphinha explained.

“Lamine has impressive numbers not only from last season, but also from the previous one. He has started this season impressively,” Raphinha added.
