Barcelona youngster and recent Golden Boy award winner, Lamine Yamal, has ambitious goals for his career.
The 17-year-old winger aims to secure a World Cup title with Spain and a UEFA Champions League trophy with Barcelona before he reaches the age of 21.
Yamal received the award, which recognizes the best player under 21 in European leagues, during a ceremony at Estadi Lluis Companys, prior to the match against Leganés.
Yamal, who who was born in Esplugues de Llobregat to a Moroccan father and an Equatorial Guinean mother, articulated his aspirations.
“Before I turn 21, my goal is to win the World Cup with Spain, the Champions League, and two more leagues with Barça.”
Yamal also noted that winning the Champions League could enhance his chances of competing for the Ballon d’Or, underlining the connection between team triumphs and individual accolades.
“If I win with Barça, especially the Champions League, I will have a greater chance of contending for the individual trophy that crowns a player’s career: the Ballon d’Or.”
