Lamine Mezouaghi: French-Algerian midfielder joins CChartres on free transfer from FC 93 Bobigny

French-Algerian midfielder Lamine Mezouaghi has joined C’Chartres on a free transfer from FC 93 Bobigny, strengthening the National 2 side’s options in defensive midfield. The 21-year-old left-footer makes the switch within the French pyramid ahead of the 2026-27 campaign after a year with the Bobigny club.

Mezouaghi, who was born in Villepinte in February 2005, is primarily a defensive midfielder but has also built a reputation for contributing in the final third during his early career. He arrives at C’Chartres after stepping up from youth and lower-league football over the past few seasons, including senior minutes in the French National and National 2 divisions.

Last season the midfielder featured across league and cup competitions, building on a record that already includes appearances in National 1, National 2 and the Coupe de France. At youth level he demonstrated an eye for goal, registering six goals and four assists in 20 matches in the National U19 Group A, before translating that impact into senior football with three goals in 17 National 2 outings.

Mezouaghi’s path to Chartres has taken him through Montfermeil’s youth set-up, then US Raon-l’Etape and US Torcy, before his move to FC 93 Bobigny in 2025, also on a free transfer. Each step has brought him closer to regular senior football, culminating in this latest move into Group D of National 2.

The deal sees Mezouaghi leave FC 93 Bobigny and officially become a C’Chartres player on a free transfer dated 22 July 2026.
