Newcastle United are being linked with a move for Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, with the Senegal international emerging as a potential target from Ligue 1 for the Premier League side.

The 21-year-old central midfielder, currently valued at €30.00m on Transfermarkt, is the subject of fresh speculation suggesting Newcastle are exploring the possibility of bringing him to St James’ Park from the principality club. The reported probability of the move is listed as “?”, underlining that talks, if any, are at an early and uncertain stage and that no agreement has been reached between the clubs.

Camara is under contract at Monaco, but publicly available data does not specify an end date, leaving open the theoretical possibility that he could move in the future without a transfer fee were no extension to be agreed. For now, however, any switch to Newcastle would be expected to involve negotiations with the Ligue 1 side, who only signed him from Metz in July 2024.

Born in Diouloulou on 1 January 2004, Camara has progressed rapidly through club and international football. After early spells in Senegal with Casa Sports and AS Académie Génération Foot, he moved to France with Metz’s B team in February 2023, stepping up to the first team that summer. A move to Monaco followed as his reputation grew in Ligue 1.

His market value has risen sharply in a short period, climbing from €200,000 at Metz B in June 2023 to €30.00m with Monaco by October 2025, reflecting his development as a right-footed central midfielder capable of operating at the highest level. Standing at 1.73m, he has established himself as a modern midfield option, and any transfer to Newcastle would represent another significant step, potentially shaping both his career trajectory and his standing in European football if the move were to materialise.
