Lameck Banda: Zambia and Lecce Winger Linked with Al-Fateh Move in Saudi Pro League

Lameck Banda, the Zambia international currently at Lecce, is the subject of transfer interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Fateh. The 25-year-old left winger, who has been with the Serie A club since 2022, is being monitored as Al-Fateh assess wide options for the new campaign.

Banda is under contract with Lecce until 30 June 2027, meaning any deal would require the Italians to negotiate a fee rather than risk losing him on a free. His market value is currently estimated at around €3.5 million, a figure that is likely to frame early discussions over a potential move to Saudi Arabia.

The right-footed winger joined Lecce from Israeli side Maccabi Petah Tikva in August 2022 for about €2m, having previously spent time with Arsenal Tula in Russia. His performances in Italy’s top flight have helped establish him as a regular at club level and raise his profile beyond Europe.

Born in Lusaka on 29 January 2001, Banda has developed his game across several leagues since leaving Zambian side ZESCO United for Arsenal Tula in 2019. His versatility on the left of the attack and experience in different competitions have made him one of Lecce’s more saleable assets ahead of the summer window.

Lecce, who signed Banda when his valuation was significantly lower than it is now, face a decision over whether to cash in with a year remaining before the final stretch of his contract or seek to keep him as a key attacking option through to 2027.
