Lakhdar Belloumi names Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG, Marseille and Manchester City as ideal clubs for son Bachir

Algerian football legend Lakhdar Belloumi has highlighted Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique de Marseille and Manchester City as clubs that could suit his son Bachir, who is making a strong impression with Hull City.

The 24-year-old right-winger has made an excellent start to the season in the English Championship, scoring twice and providing two assists in five matches, all of which have been starts.

Belloumi first registered an assist against Coventry at the end of August. He then scored twice at Chelsea a few days ago before setting up another goal during Hull City’s visit to Newcastle on Saturday.

Speaking to winwin, Lakhdar Belloumi expressed his pride in his son’s performances and used the interview to send an unmistakable message to five of Europe’s leading clubs: Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique de Marseille and Manchester City.

The former Algeria forward, who won 96 international caps and scored 26 goals, was also named African Ballon d’Or winner in 1981.

Despite pointing to those five potential destinations, Belloumi stressed that his son remains focused on his responsibilities with Hull City.

Bachir Belloumi moved to England two years ago from Farense in Portugal and is contracted to Hull City until the end of June 2029. His value is estimated at €6m by Transfermarkt.

His form has also earned him a return to the Algeria squad, three years after his only previous call-up. He was selected by then-manager Djamel Belmadi in October 2023 but did not play.

Lakhdar Belloumi welcomed his son’s return to the national team and hopes Bachir will take the opportunity to demonstrate his ability.

Algeria will face Zambia in Tizi Ouzou on 25 September before travelling to Bujumbura to play Burundi on 29 September in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Greens will complete the international break with a friendly against Niger in Tizi Ouzou on 6 October.
